Nothing as entertaining as having sales people in the same office as designers.

every five minutes, there is someone walking by with a pointing finger practicing his eye twinkle and gun finger point with a “hey, I appreciate that”. It’s quite funny. It’s fun to see the salesmen accumulate a bunch of cheese to their daily greeting and goodbye. It’s funny to watch other salesmen incorporate the other salesmen’s cheese to their daily routine.

It is a must for a salesman to say ” Hey I think you’re pretty cool, no matter what the others say about you”. At least three times a week. It’s almost like stretching before a run, or a superstition before a performance on a stage. I just want to buy a few mirrors and stick them in each salesperson’s cubicle so they can practice their sincere faces and mouth movements. I really want to catch that on video. Yes. People of the sales depart are that dang into themself and what they do.

On the up side, there is plenty to be learned from them on how to be polite and nice no matter what.

Kudos.

Do you go to work while ill just in case you might get even more sick before the end of the year?

Normally I do not take sick days off, unless it’s unbearable. Or if I think it’s an illness that might spread through the office. Especially if I think I could get this one again. I usually end the year with extra sick days left. This year, maybe I am not eating as well. because every time I get sick, it feels like the worst ever.

If you are blowing chunks and dizzy and can’t see straight. You should be at home. be it because of stress or a bug. If you can not function and could potentially make monster mistakes. Then you should take a sick day. Take a day off from work and recoop.

This post sponsored by my sick day.

There are Survey sites that actually pay, and there are survey sites that do not pay. There are many survey sites that used to pay but now have gone to a point system. Let’s talk about those online survey sites.

At one time I was trying every online survey site that I could find, to find one that was not going to rip me off. A survey site that wouldn’t ask me any information that could lead to my identity getting stolen. doing this I had to sign up for a whole lot of spam. but in the end I found probably ten survey sites that paid crazy good money, and like 2 websites that had a points system. Usually the point system is traded in for cash and or products once you accumulate enough points. To me, this is a blatant hustle. Yes that is a straight up scam. because you know, you see “3000 point 30 minute survey awaits you”. but you look on line and see that you can’t cash out until you get 60,000 points accumulated. Then you see that 60,000 points is $20. At the rate of 3000 points for 20 minutes of your time. it would take you 6 hours to accumulate $20. Now let’s not judge my math when I say ” that is about $3.33 an hour”. I like to think I am worth way more than that. but of course, since they do the point system you have to do the math of converting the points to dollars ($1=3000 points) ($.33=1000 points) and then do the math of the amount of time they are offering you. So  you have to now do the math of how much you really want to be worth per hour and find out how many points that value is an hour and save that somewhere so that when you get an invite to do a survey for some point for a set time limit, divide the time you have into one hour, now divide the hourly wage you feel worth by the amount of dollars the points they are offering you are worth. Now see if it looks close enough.

Now that is exactly what the survey sites with the point systems are counting on. Is that you are too lazy to do all the math and just get excited when you see a lot of points.

The people are paid to gather information from us about the products, for the manufacturers and advertising agencies for the products. These sites get paid plenty of money. but it is greed that makes them say ” Hey I have an idea, let’s go to a point system, it will be like that street hustle game with the magic cups, these people are stupid and will get excited when we tell them it’s a 45 minute survey for a whopping 900 points”, because 900 of anything is a lot of what ever it is you now have 900 of.

I am now down to three survey sites that I use, who actually pay you in a dollar amount.

Nope…nevermind… I’m down to two. and with these two I only select the surveys that pay me what I think I am worth. to bad they only send one survey a day. Before, when I had ten sites to chose from, I would earn at least $150 a day doing online surveys and only spend about 4 hours doing that.

If I am hurting and feel I have to do the point system surveys, I just click the middle option to everything and try and get it over faster, giving them crap answers since they are giving me crap pay. I figure they care so little they will never check individual answers. I figure they found a cheaper faster manor of getting a total of answers and pulling the average. So yeah, their own greed and laziness is their folly. but I try to avoid those sites. but the sites that pay a fair good price, I pay close attention because I don’t want the survey to end early and me get disqualified. I respect the money, not the points.

I think one site I was at, converted all of the money I was letting build up, into points and then only offered Amazon money to buy stuff from Amazon. I had like $60 on that dang site So I cashed in my amazon gift certificate, I think I still have like $20 on Amazon, I was out of random junk to buy.

Another site was just points that you trade in for cheap products. Like a $10 portable radio takes like 60 hours of work to “win”.

Can you tell I dislike survey sites that work on a point system? I am not doing the surveys to make the products better. Well not completely. I am doing the surveys to see new stuff before anyone, which you will do, and I am doing the surveys to earn money.

So, survey Spot, Taluna (is like three survey sites that have sold and merged), Opinion outpost(two survey sites that sold and merged), Global test market(two survey sites that sold and merged)  YOU SUCK

Pizza delivery sucks

Gas prices are up. People have less money to tip with. This means the guy with the delivery job, has to pay for his own gas, meanwhile only get compensated for a percentage of fuel used, the rest is covered by the tip. The less the customer has to tip with, the less the delivery guy gets. Of course if the gas prices stay up long enough, the cost of the food supplied to the pizza places will go up. When that goes up, the cost of the pizza will go up. This of course leaves less money for the customer to tip the pizza guy with.

Pizza delivery sucks

The worst thing you can say to the pizza guy is ‘ You know how it is” cuz yes.. He does. He is so broke he was hoping you would jingle some change his way.

Drop something in the pizza guy’s tray. You have to. He does not make what the employment ads lead you to believe he makes. They say “up to $15 an hour”  when actually the pizza guy only gets half minimum wage plus tips. If you tip. and well right now, no one tips.

Pizza delivery sucks

He pays for his gas, his oil,  travels 10k miles every 3 months, pays for his own used tires because he can’t afford new ones, his door sags from opening repeatedly, changes starters 3 times a year, replaces clutch every 5 months. And all of the overheating. Man the overheating part sucks. Fuel pumps going out, Mildew in the car from having the window down while at the customer’s house, because his door handle is broke, inside and out. Window no longer roles up, you gotta pull it up. Headlights go out at least once a year. Roof is rusted where the company sign and it’s magnets have scratched his paint to the metal.

To the pizza guy, Go find a job, Find a real job where you have more self respect from people. For yourself. Yeah the job has some fun times, but not near enough. Use that search, type city name, and job title. You will get results from 14 job search sites at one time. The more specific your search, the better the results. Shoot high, I mean all you have to do is type in the name of a city pr zip code, a job title and maybe a wage preference. Come on man. I have been there. Let me help you out of this.

Pizza delivery sucks and is frustrating. but hey it’s a job. Doesn’t pay, but it’s a job. They need to raise the standard pay for a pizza guy. because that job is more than him. it’s his most expensive investment, his car. and that gets trashed and worn out.

400 people in a day. Can you please 400 people a day with proper happy polite service? Every single day 6 days a week, all year around?

How many times can you deal with someone cutting in front of the line you have to just throw money at you, while you are trying to help the nice old lady at the counter who seems to be counting pennies?

How many times in a week can you hear “you have a bad attitude” when you haven’t done anything, and aren’t feeling any bad emotion?

How often can you rush to get all of the customers out of your store because you need to use the restroom only to get slammed with 6 people who can’t decide what scratch off lotto ticket they are wanting to buy?

People for some reason, like to sigh really heavy when they get to counter. As if to say “hey dude, I have had a rough day”. but what you will notice, is they all blow right in your face when they do that.
People will cough right in your face, full open mouth, non-covered cough in your face. If the store you work at is near a hospital, that can be pretty dang scary. unless you don’t notice that kind of stuff. Then maybe a gas station is perfect for you.

You have to restock that cooler at the end of your shift, and clean the bathrooms and empty the trash all around the store and parking lot. Beer soaked diapers. Many other bathroom things in the bathroom trash. and no.. Not everyone can aim at the toilet. Standing or sitting. 1 or 2.

What about the times when you just can’t get everything together, like the register is on the boink, and you seem to be out of all of the rare cigarettes and that day is the day that everyone wants that rare brand of cigarettes meanwhile the lotto machine won’t work all the while your line is getting longer and your customers are all grumbling like they don’t see that your day sucks, they are just huffy about their 30 seconds being wasted because you aren’t good at what you doing? Even the nicest customers do this grumble.

Get hit back to back with kids trying to buy stuff that their I.D. won’t let them and they raise a fuss.

Then to get a phone call from your store manager telling you that your store will be inspected tomorrow so you need to really bust your hump and scrub everything that they think your minimum wage is worth. So she can collect her 6 month bonus of $7000. $7000 that you will not see a penny of. both of her 6 month bonuses are more than your yearly income. Meanwhile her salary is twice your yearly income. She talks to you like you are a moron and like the world will fall apart because you can’t show up the next day. She tells you that she never goes to her kid’s events though she is off by 2 pm every single day. and yes she thinks she is a baby sitter of adult idiots. All the while she has no intelligent answer about anything. Remember this and test it for yourself “Stupid people act angry so you won’t stump them with a simple question”. Now ask her about current events or what the difference is between kinetic energy and g-forces. Trust me she will not know and she will give you a rude answer. Play it off as you got asked this by your sister’s kid and got to wondering.

You need to get out of retail. a person working at the sewage plant,  makes more than three times your wage. Three times your wage! And he has the weekend off. and he gets raises greater than 25 cents a year. Ever notice the lawn care crews have lots of money? They mow lawns. Not too complicated. You can do that. grab a mower and do it for yourself. It’s easy. Janitors make more than you, You know whats even worse? They all get the weekend and holidays off, and you do not. More Truth about Working in a gas station.

Please, for the sense of anything logical Get a better job, Do a job search, get the heck out of retail. Those people do not respect you. No matter how nice the Christmas card is you get every year. They do not respect you, they don’t want to know who or what you are, just have a heart beat and don’t steal.

So you get checks because you lost your job. You have to fill out a set amount of job applications every month. You have applied at every place you can think of, so now you need more places to apply at. Use the job search here, apply for a job that pays what you require and either get a job or don’t. Hopefully you get a really great paying job. But at the least, you dropped off the required amount of job applications.

How do you handle nature causing you to not be able to work?

We first have to ask ourselves if we could make it to work safely without harming ourselves or another person during this time. We still need to also think about making it back home. Be sure and remember that you will be dealing with street lights that may or may not be working, and lots of people frustrated and or disorganized. Can you plan an alternative route? Is there electricity that you may need, in the location you are scheduled to work? if there is none, does your task that makes you useful, require you to have electricity? Will there be someone on site to let you in?

Things to make this go easier.

Bring your food and drink, something that does not need cooling or heating.

Bring eating utensils. Forks, plates, cups.

Bring extra cloths. If you get stuck there or if you require a change because of some disaster, you will be glad to have them.

Bring paper and pens.

Make sure your cell phone is charged.

If you can bring a radio, do so.

Leave a note at your home explaining where you are and what you are doing. Don’t count on them remembering in a disaster if something happens to you.

This is all for the safety of you in the “must go” situation. This is not saying that if you use this page you should go.because this page will not know your conditions and this page does not all circumstances. This is just if you feel already that you must go and have no alternative, hopefully it will keep you prepared and ready.

I think that over the years, I have used them all.

This is a list of sites that do taxes for free online. 1040 EZ.

i haven’t tried anything other than the 1040 ez tax prep on each site. So if you have any weird circumstances, this really isn’t for you.

If you do not know the difference, Well Let’s just say that if you have more than your income taxes to work into your tax preparation, then 1040 EZ is probably not for you. 1040 EZ is just the basic’ This is what I made this year, this is what I paid this year, how much do I get back???” Tax return. If you need your tax return to reflect fuel mileage, mortgages, loans or anything other than and actual return for income, and have no idea what tax form you should fill out, it would probably be in your best interest to seek advice from a professional on this matter. All i am putting out there is links to the three top free tax preparation websites that I know work and have not done anything weird to me. Except for H&R Block somehow fumbling my “making work pay” tax break did nothing even though it showed $400 extra until I finalized. but I did get my return in less than a week, while the other two gave me all breaks (previous years) and it took up to three weeks to get the return.
