Unemployment Update

May 14th, 2010 Categories: career, job, work

Even though the unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent, the government’s jobs report for the month of April is the most positive one since the start of the recession: The economy added 290,000 jobs as the labor force swelled by 805,000, causing the rate to rise.

From the Huffington Post

Will this effect the retirement and pension? Let’s hope it does not. I have my doubts but I keep getting questions about retirement plans for those who already are retired, and those to come.
it goes on to say that people over 50 looking for jobs are having a tougher and tougher time. I fear that day. The day when I can’t pull together a bunch of my know how and make something provide for me. Actually to be broke and have no internet I would be so out of place it isn’t even worth a smirk. I would be a sad site to see. Really to think of the quick one time ideas I can come up with, would get internet for like a month and I would be in a mad dash to make something online and cross my fingers because I can’t check it after that, and I can’t update it. it would fall stagnant in less than 2 months time. I guess whittling some sticks into something and selling them on ebay (or what ever takes it’s place) for a nickle would get old really fast, Especially if my hands hurt.

The whole thing is getting bad enough for me to take notice. I try and not sweat about much, that just leads to unneeded panic and anxiety.  but it is true, you wait long enough for something to finally effect you enough to get as involved as the others (back in the day when you said that stuff didn’t matter) it’s already so far to late, that you are  alone in your struggle of acceptance and submittal.

If you happen to be in this percentage, try the job search.
